Slavic and Eastern European Community meeting with Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. Congresswoman Bonamici gave opening remarks about her work in Congress and current important issues, about the war in Ukraine and her attitude towards it, followed by a question and answer session with residents.

Bonamici said she supports U.S. aid to Ukraine, U.S. cooperation with other European and NATO allies, and implementing sanctions against Russia, which attacked Ukraine without provocation in late February.

President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have publicly accused Russia of war crimes in Ukraine.

“The goal is to help Ukraine and weaken the Russian forces as they continue to take innocent lives,” Bonamici said.

The community was happy to hear that Bonamici was fully “on board” with what the community hopes for Ukraine during the war.
