Immigrants’ environmental learning is directly related to their perceived connections to the local community and environment. Environmental care is inherently a North American value. Our Culturally Relevant Environmental Education Program focuses on helping immigrants become socialized to new norms. Our environment work will focus on raising people’s awareness of climate change by providing opportunities to learn about what it is and what actions to take. Environmental Education Program engage immigrants through Events, Public Programs, Art Exhibits, and Community Partnerships, non-formal environmental education programs .Environmental Volunteers’ Nature Walks program is designed to help immigrants get to know our local city parks and open space areas. We offer interpretive hikes led by local experts on topics such as local birds, wildflowers, and trees on the trails.
