Autism is a global issue. A group of medical professionals from OHSU, Portland OR and across the United Sates led by Linda Schmidt MD, the Director of Child and Adolescent Clinic at OHSU and  Robert Nickel MD, semi-retired from OHSU Child Development and Rehabilitation Center in Eugene, volunteer their time and resources to travel to Ukraine and conduct professional seminars to Ukrainian psychiatrists, neurologists, psychologists, therapists, speech therapists and parents. They teach early diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of autism as well as other mental health topics.
